Kitten time

Looks like I’ll have a kitten in a few hours, if all goes according to plan. Discussed it with my mum today and went to Asda to buy some kitten supplies a couple of hours ago.

Seen a couple of male grey tabby 13-week-old kittens advertised in a local newspaper. Should be nice. I’ve decided to call him Bonhomme, after I remembered Laura’s dad singing an old traditional French song and acting out the role with Laura’s cat Domo. I will call him Bono for short.

Should be awesome 🙂

Edit – 15:10
Turns out that one of the kittens has been sold already and the other is being looked at tonight. I’m hoping it doesn’t get bought so I can have it instead. I’ll get a message tomorrow if it’s still available 😐

I went to a cat rescue place today, but they said it might be a problem to get one from there because I live kinda close to a main road… I’d have to get a house cat from them instead… They’re hairy, old, and ugly 🙁

Oh iTunes how you mock me

I’ve spent the last couple of weeks thinking a lot about moving back to California and how I really miss the way everything was a couple of years (that long?) ago.

So yeah, I was just eating some ice cream and listening to music when Duran Duran came on singing Ordinary World.

Came in from a rainy Thursday

On the avenue

Thought I heard you talking softly

I turned on the lights, the TV

And the radio

Still I can’t escape the ghost of you

What has happened to it all?

Crazy, some are saying

Where is the life that I recognize?

Gone away

But I won’t cry for yesterday

There’s an ordinary world

Somehow I have to find

And as I try to make my way

To the ordinary world

I will learn to survive

Which was fricking wonderful to listen to 😛

I started writing this blog entry before that song ended and the next track to start, cruelly, was California by Phantom Planet! iTunes hates me :'(

So what next? California Dreamin’? California Soul? Hotel California? One Year, Six Months?

Actually, no. City Girl by Kevin Shields… Oh well. 🙂

Cold and cancer

I was just talking to Stacey and she told me she’d be back in a couple of minutes because she was going to have a cigarette and take some medicine to get rid of her cold.

Now, consider that for just a second…

She doesn’t want a cold, so she’s going to take medicine to make her better. She’s also going to smoke a cigarette, which will eventually give her, or someone near to her, cancer.

The cold can’t be cured yet, just the symptoms subdued a bit. The cancer can be almost completely prevented if she just stopped smoking. Well, not prevented, but the likelihood of contracting it would be significantly lower.

Doesn’t seem to make sense to me. People are silly.

Wake up…

… No, it actually happened.

Crap.

Mostly I’m sorry to Leanne who wasn’t involved that much, but just kept on saying things anyway…

I’m still pissed off that after I got everyone together and paid for 90% of the night they all left me by myself. No matter what, that was a pretty shitty thing to do. I doubt anyone even had a second thought, which sucks because three of them were sober at the time…

If I hadn’t bothered chasing after the cars then Craig would probably have stopped and waited for me. The fact that I was making a big effort was enough to make him be a dick.

None of the bad stuff from last night would have happened if other people hadn’t made it happen. So thanks a lot, friends.

Ah shit

So I was having a great night, even though I was paying for drinks for everyone, except when Craig bought one round and Leanne bought me a drink.

Then it was the end of the night and there was talk about moving on, so I went to the bathroom.

When I got back I looked over to discover the people I’d just spent £50 of the money I don’t fucking have on had run off and left me by myself. A guy on another table asked if I was with “those four” and I said yes and he told me they had “fled” already without me. I thought they might just be in the car park waiting for me, playing a joke, or genuinely just waiting… But no, they’d all gone and left me.

I started walking down the main road by myself at just gone midnight looking for them when they drove past me in the opposite direction. I stopped and waited for them to turn around. Craig was ahead, so I walked into the road expecting him to slow down and wait for me, he didn’t. Bexx swerved towards me and I had to back away before I got hit. I heard Leanne say “Woah” as they inched past me.

I started running down the road after them, pretty close at one point as Craig slowed down long enough for Bexx to go past him, and then he sped up so I couldn’t quite catch him, so I decided to go on the pavement, and then I gave up entirely and went into the grave yard to sit for a minute. I have nettle stings all up my right leg from climbing over a wall.

A minute later I continued walking down the main road expecting to see one of the cars driving in the opposite direction looking for me, but no. I ended up calling Craig when I was just by my house and he said they were down at Titchfield Park, so I ran down there, alone, to catch up with them. I walked into the park, but couldn’t see them, so I called Craig again, and he told me they were on the swings. I walked over and through a crowd of strange guys I didn’t know to find my “friends.”

Leanne and Craig were on the swings and Bexx and Dave were off somewhere else.

For the second time in my life I got pissed off enough with people to raise my fist to a woman 🙁 I fucking hate myself for that ebcause I don’t want to be like my dad. That’s my absolute worst memory and I can never forgive myself to getting to that point… I’m sorry, Leanne, more than you could possibly understand. As far as I know there is nobody else who knows about my mum and dad, and that’s the way I’d really rather keep it… So long as you know that there is a very good reason for me feeling as ashamed as I do. I never want to be in that situation again, especially with someone who had absolutely no control of the situation (after it had started).

I had a big go at Craig and Leanne for five minutes, at which point some chav bastard came over and complained that there was too much noise for his drug deal or something, and so I apologised, instead of punching his fucking face. Then I walked off and waited by Craig and Bexx’s cars for a while until some guy I don’t know came and told me they’d seen me and had walked off to the river instead.

I walked down to the river and spoke to them for a few seconds. They thanked me for the drinks and apologised when I asked, but I was being more of a dickhead than neccessary, so I tried to apologise (yeah, dickheads apologise) to Leanne, who didn’t want to hear it. Personally I can see why, now.

Then I had a go at Bexx because she was interfering, but I can understand that too. If I knew that someone was potentially violent towards a woman then I would put myself between that person and another woman at a moments notice… So yeah, I’m sorry to Bexx too, for what it’s worth. I had a great night with her up until she tried to run me over, and then left me.

I then proceeded to have another go at Craig, and Dave for a little while, and then stormed off home to write this eloquent pice of junk.

Yeah, I’ve disabled commenting for a while, and I’ve deleted a bunch of folks from MySpace (even though it’s down 80% of the time) too… You’ll all live, and well be better off without each other. So long. Have wonderful lives.

Edit
You know what, I’ve enabled commenting. It’s hardly fair to disable it. Feel free to say what you please. I know some of what I did was wrong, and disproportional to what you did, so go for it. Flame the fuck out of me.

Curse my stupid mouth

Dammit dammit dammit to hell!

Just about an hour ago I was saying how I was bored here at work because there’s nothing to do. Well, I take it all back! Please!

I just overheard my co-worker and my boss’s-boss discussing us taking over the responsibilities of the IT Technician helpdesk. 🙁

It’s not that I can’t handle the stuff easily enough, and it’s not even the fact that I don’t have the correct privileges to do most of the stuff needed on the domain, it’s more just that I can’t be bothered to deal with stupid people all day. I know that’s what I do most of the time anyway, but that’s little consolation when I’m looking at doing it even more.

I like the fact that I can sit around here all day doing nothing but read news sites and blogs all day. I really do prefer that to talking some retard through installing a printer or right-aligning some text in Microsoft Word (PRESS F1! I know the paperclip is annoying, but he knows a damn sight more than you do!).

I like spending a large portion of my day meandering down the information superhighway. There are some pretty nice views that I don’t want interrupted by an 18-wheeler-idiot who can’t check a power cable is plugged in, or socket turned on before calling me. I’ll have enough of that in a couple of months.

Pretty much nothing

I got moaned atbecause I haven’t updated for a while… The reason behind that being that nothing even remotely interesting has really happened in the last few days.

I walked right past Bexx at the Cockle and completely failed to realise she was with Dave until several minutes later. So I looked stupid and ignorant.

I spent last night watching TV episodes and movies. Clerks II is extremely good. Go watch it you little porch monkeys!

I played my guitar for the first time in a long time and re-learned Seven Nation Army by the White Stripes, as if it’s some sort of achievement. I wish I could be instantly good and never needed to practice.

Umm, work’s fairly boring because there’s absolutely nothing to do, but hurray for having next week off! 😀 I look forward to it 🙂

Deep South Trip

Craig, Leanne, and I were bored on Saturday. I suggested going to France, but Craig doesn’t have a passport. I suggested going to Scotland to see Loch Ness, but it would have taken 11 hours to get up there, according to Google Maps. Craig suggested going to Stone Henge. I agreed, so we set off a couple of hours later.

On the way down we drove through some really heavy rain. It was difficult to see two cars ahead, which was fun at 70mph. At some service station a big bit of spring randomly jumped off Craig’s car… It drove well enough for the rest of the weekend, but it’s still a tad worrying.

When we got down to Stone Henge we got out, paid about £17.70 for the three of us to get in, went under a tunnel and looked at Stone Henge for roughly 4 minutes, and then we left. It’s an expensive bunch of rocks in a field. Good pictures though.

Stone Henge

So yeah, then we set off for Craig’s cousin’s house in Henley, near Reading. On the way to Stone Henge we’d seen a couple of places we wanted to visit first, though, so we took some more cool pictures.

Palestine

Leanne at the rare breeds farm

So yeah, that was fun. Then we drove on to meet Craig’s cousin, Sam.

After a couple of hours we arrived at our destination and we met Sam and her dad, Rich. They’re both really cool, and so we went almost right out to the pub (The Maltsters: I love the way they say it.) 🙂 After being there for a while we decided to go back to the house so everyone could get ready to go into Windsor for some drinks.

We drove to Windsor and met Sam’s friends Carlos (his name is Carl really) and Sam (another, confusingly). We hung out at a flat for a few minutes before heading into town and heard stories of fighting and smoking and all those fun topics.

Windsor itself is a nice place at night. We went into a small-ish pub to begin with which wouldn’t serve a couple of people without ID, and it was dead in there. We left that and went off in search of an off-license to begin with. When we didn’t find one we began heading to a Wetherspoons. When we discovered the whole centre of windsor was cordoned off by the police we changed plans again and went into Yello Bar. It was a pretty nice place, so we stayed there for the rest of the night.

Craig dropped Carlos and Sam off back at the flat and then drove us all back to Sam’s house. We stayed up drinking wine for a while, and watching Lindsay Lohan movies and the most messed up episode of Dangermouse, ever.

Leanne passed out first, so Craig carried her to a bed and god knows what else 😉 At about 5am we all decided to go to sleep. Craig got the top bunk bed, so I got the bottom one, and we were fast asleep pretty damn quickly.

I woke up at about 10:30 an hung out by myself for about 1.5 hours, at which point Craig joined me. We watched some TV until Sam, Rich, and eventually Leanne came to join us. We talked for a little while, watched some Stargate: True Science thing on Sky One and then got ready to go to the Maltsters for Sunday lunch.

When we got there we were sitting with 4 Americans who were over on business. It was funny hearing the accent again. It was also a little strange watching them eat a roast dinner. After dessert we decided to go back to the house and then go into Henley, by the river for a while. We waited about an hour for the slowest group of old people ever to eat their lunch out of the boot and drive off. To their credit they did give us their parking voucher thing as well as their spot, so it was worth it.

We walked along the river Thames for a while and got ice cream. Sam showed us around Henley a bunch, and it was a nice walk. After the walk we drove back to the house so Sam could get ready to go to work. Rich was a bit busy with some work so Craig, Leanne, and I just sat around watching some TV and chatting a bit.

After a while we decided to go see Sam at work. It took us a while to find the place, but it was nice when we got there. It got a bit busy with cricketers at one point, but it was nice.

After a drink we set off back for Nottinghamshire. On the way back we decided to drop into Banbury to get pizza. Pizza Hut had decided to close 15 minutes early, so we went to a nice-looking Pizza Express place instead.

After that we seemed to get back home pretty quickly, which was nice. We all separated our stuff and after I uploaded the pictures I went to sleep.

Everyone but me is going down again this weekend. I presume I’m not invited because they don’t need someone to pay for everything this time :\ Either that or because Glenn doesn’t like me or whatever Craig said. So yeah, it was an awesome time, but I got a bit bothered towards the end because everyone else was planning a good time in front of me. Oh well.

Just because

I think these pictures are absolutely hilarious.

JonP puckered up at the camera with Leanne's glasses on

JonP with his tongue between his teeth

That really was a cool night.

Last night was quite good, but it got pretty bad at parts.

We (Leanne, JonP, Len, Stacey, and I) had a barbecue on the park, then went to play pool for a while. It was nice, but more than a bit strained at times.
