Craig, Leanne, and I were bored on Saturday. I suggested going to France, but Craig doesn’t have a passport. I suggested going to Scotland to see Loch Ness, but it would have taken 11 hours to get up there, according to Google Maps. Craig suggested going to Stone Henge. I agreed, so we set off a couple of hours later.
On the way down we drove through some really heavy rain. It was difficult to see two cars ahead, which was fun at 70mph. At some service station a big bit of spring randomly jumped off Craig’s car… It drove well enough for the rest of the weekend, but it’s still a tad worrying.
When we got down to Stone Henge we got out, paid about £17.70 for the three of us to get in, went under a tunnel and looked at Stone Henge for roughly 4 minutes, and then we left. It’s an expensive bunch of rocks in a field. Good pictures though.

So yeah, then we set off for Craig’s cousin’s house in Henley, near Reading. On the way to Stone Henge we’d seen a couple of places we wanted to visit first, though, so we took some more cool pictures.

So yeah, that was fun. Then we drove on to meet Craig’s cousin, Sam.
After a couple of hours we arrived at our destination and we met Sam and her dad, Rich. They’re both really cool, and so we went almost right out to the pub (The Maltsters: I love the way they say it.) 🙂 After being there for a while we decided to go back to the house so everyone could get ready to go into Windsor for some drinks.
We drove to Windsor and met Sam’s friends Carlos (his name is Carl really) and Sam (another, confusingly). We hung out at a flat for a few minutes before heading into town and heard stories of fighting and smoking and all those fun topics.
Windsor itself is a nice place at night. We went into a small-ish pub to begin with which wouldn’t serve a couple of people without ID, and it was dead in there. We left that and went off in search of an off-license to begin with. When we didn’t find one we began heading to a Wetherspoons. When we discovered the whole centre of windsor was cordoned off by the police we changed plans again and went into Yello Bar. It was a pretty nice place, so we stayed there for the rest of the night.
Craig dropped Carlos and Sam off back at the flat and then drove us all back to Sam’s house. We stayed up drinking wine for a while, and watching Lindsay Lohan movies and the most messed up episode of Dangermouse, ever.
Leanne passed out first, so Craig carried her to a bed and god knows what else 😉 At about 5am we all decided to go to sleep. Craig got the top bunk bed, so I got the bottom one, and we were fast asleep pretty damn quickly.
I woke up at about 10:30 an hung out by myself for about 1.5 hours, at which point Craig joined me. We watched some TV until Sam, Rich, and eventually Leanne came to join us. We talked for a little while, watched some Stargate: True Science thing on Sky One and then got ready to go to the Maltsters for Sunday lunch.
When we got there we were sitting with 4 Americans who were over on business. It was funny hearing the accent again. It was also a little strange watching them eat a roast dinner. After dessert we decided to go back to the house and then go into Henley, by the river for a while. We waited about an hour for the slowest group of old people ever to eat their lunch out of the boot and drive off. To their credit they did give us their parking voucher thing as well as their spot, so it was worth it.
We walked along the river Thames for a while and got ice cream. Sam showed us around Henley a bunch, and it was a nice walk. After the walk we drove back to the house so Sam could get ready to go to work. Rich was a bit busy with some work so Craig, Leanne, and I just sat around watching some TV and chatting a bit.
After a while we decided to go see Sam at work. It took us a while to find the place, but it was nice when we got there. It got a bit busy with cricketers at one point, but it was nice.
After a drink we set off back for Nottinghamshire. On the way back we decided to drop into Banbury to get pizza. Pizza Hut had decided to close 15 minutes early, so we went to a nice-looking Pizza Express place instead.
After that we seemed to get back home pretty quickly, which was nice. We all separated our stuff and after I uploaded the pictures I went to sleep.
Everyone but me is going down again this weekend. I presume I’m not invited because they don’t need someone to pay for everything this time :\ Either that or because Glenn doesn’t like me or whatever Craig said. So yeah, it was an awesome time, but I got a bit bothered towards the end because everyone else was planning a good time in front of me. Oh well.
