This weekend, so far, I’ve basically just played games the whole time.
It started at work yesterday when my new co-worker, James, introduced me to Project64, a Nintendo 64 emulator. I started wanting to play all of the games I have in boxes somewhere without having to set up another console in my room. It’s great.
From the musical introduction of Banjo-Kazooie:
[Banjo and Kazooie]
To the predictable messages in Lylat Wars:
[Lylat Wars]
It’s been a lot of fun.
Last night I also played a game of poker with a bunch of my “online friends.” Seven of us played in total, but only ever 6 at a time. It was really awesome. We were (almost) all on Skype for the majority of the time too, so that really added something. It’s much better now a Skype call can include 10 people.
Hopefully the rest of the weekend will be as inexpensive 🙂 Having said that, I did spend £25 on a new USB controller so I could play N64 games properly. It’s very cool.

We thought those graphics were mint at the time. When they start to look really shit compared to new games, that means we’re old.Posted by Stu
Also when I see that the games I remember so well came out in 1997 and 1998 and that was almost a decade ago. Ugh. I don’t wanna be old.
