Lizz and I had a good Christmas this year. It was a bit strange to be working all the way up to Christmas Eve, but oh well.
Dave met me when I got off the train and we went straight to Il Rosso while I ate some mince pies that Dave had brought for me. Still warm from the oven! When we got to Il Rosso we spent quite a while scoping out the place so we could get a table and some seats for people by the time they all arrived. We discussed our techniques for spotting people who are leaving soon, and slowly moved our way up from standing to a 2-seater table. Then to a 4-seater table when Dave shouted at some poor girl. at that point loads of people arrived and we no longer had enough space.
We moved over to a table where only 2 girls were sitting, even though there was easily room for about 10 people. we eventually overcrowded them and they left. 🙂
It was a really good night, and everyone seemed to enjoy it just as much. Il Rosso closed at just gone 12, so I started walking home with Emma and JonP. David set off in his own direction to get home.
3 hours later Dave and I both finally got home. It’s a story too long to bother typing out, for which I’m sure Dave is quite thankful.
Christmas day consisted of Lizz and I travelling all over Mansfield visiting people. It wasn’t as bad as Lizz had expected, and it was good to see everyone.
There was quite a bit more drinking over the remaining days, and quite a few late nights, but oh well. Twas the season. I just wish it lasted a bit longer, and included more bank holidays. 🙂
Lizz has gone down to visit Jess for New Year just like last year. She should be getting there in a little while. It’ll be the first time we’ve been apart for more than a day in over a year of going out. Quite weird. Hopefully Lizz will have a great time with Jess, and I’ll try to make sure I have a great time here at work. 😐
Anyway, lunch is over, back to it!
