Scratch that

all on the floor. (Thanks Akon.)

Just as I was getting ready to leave the house I remembered that people are stupid, and because of that the Post Office is only open until about 12:30 on a Saturday. Obviously _everyone_ but me _wants_ to get up early on the first day of their weekend to go to town. Of course there’s also absolutely nowhere else in the fucking town that has a stock of the forms that are needed to sort out a driving license. No supermarkets, no printing machines (like an ATM but for useful forms), nothing.

The best I can do is order the forms from Swansea over the Internet, because obviously it’s unacceptable for us to just download and print the form for ourselves! You can do it for a visa, but not a driving license. You can fill out almost all of your passport application online these days! Why are things so badly thought through?

It’s going to cost me £19 to get my new stuff sorted out, and I have to pay via cheque or postal order. It’ll have to be a cheque (if I can find my cheque book) because the only place to get a postal order is… You guessed it! The fucking post office! I can’t pay online with my card, oh no. It’s good enough for Amazon, Play, ASDA, HMV, Virgin, ISPs, hosting companies, eBay, small shops, but not the fucking DVLA. They’re “quick” to embrace technology to boast that they know if your tax has not been payed because of their database, but not so quick to use technology to let people help themselves.

*Rant over.* Continue reading
