I got added to the “Joost”:http://joost.com beta yesterday. :)

I’ve watched a few random episodes, played around with plugins, and even started looking at theming it (it’s based on Mozilla code like “Celtx”:http://celtx.com) so it shouldn’t be overly difficult. It’s really very cool. There’s quite a bit of stuff on there at the moment, and they’ve signed a deal with Viacom for a hell of a lot more. It is advertising based, which means there are 5-10 second ads stuck in the shows, but that’s not much of a big deal…

It’s good quality at full screen, pretty reliable connection, the audio stays in sync… Overall I like it a lot. I’ll be playing around with it a lot more.

You can talk to Google Talk friends from within the program in a nicely themed window, as well as read news, blog updates, chat to people watching the same show… I’m enjoying it a lot. Continue reading →
