I got a letter from Natwest the other day telling me that they’d changed their minds about the credit card because of my credit report. Probably the fact that I don’t have anything on there has something to do with it… Or the fact that I lived with Stacey for 6 months and she has debt coming out of her ears.
I decided I should really find out. I went onto “Experian’s website”:http://www.experian.co.uk (which apparently stupidly does not work without a www.) where they told me about a free 30 day trial, blah blah blah. It’s the only way to get it online from them, as far as I could find. Natwest used Experian, so I wanted to use the same one. I can’t remember any others except for Equifax anyway.
So I followed the instructions and filled out a huge page of information about myself, got to the bottom of the page to read that they needed my card details to continue, even though it was free. Obviously they want to begin charging me instantly after the 30 days is up. Loads of websites do it, I just think it’s more than a bit shady. Fair enough, I read a bit more only to discover that you can only pay with a Visa or Mastercard…
If I could _get_ a Visa or Mastercard then I wouldn’t be looking up my _*fucking*_ credit report in the first place! There must be _thousands_ of people in the same situation. I don’t want to write off to them, with a cheque or postal order… I just want to pay for my _god damn_ credit report so I know why I can’t get a credit card to pay for things online _*like credit reports*_!
