So I was just reading CNN and there’s MORE news about Arnie and his plans to be governor.
There’s news that he said he admired Hitler.
I’ll quote below:
The New York Times and ABC News reports said that the Butler book proposal quotes Schwarzenegger as saying: “I admired Hitler, for instance, because he came from being a little man with almost no formal education up to power.”
But on Friday, the Times reported Butler — having checked through a second transcript of the interview — had found different wording.
“I admire him for being such a good public speaker and for his way of getting to the people and so on. But I didn’t admire him for what he did with it,” the quote read, according to Butler.
Here’s a little more:
Davis said the Hitler story is “particularly offensive.”
“I don’t see how anyone can admire Adolf Hitler. Any decent American has to be offended by that phrase.”
What the hell?
Why would you have to be offended by someone admiring Hitler? He never said he admired Hitler for killing people, he said he admired the way he went from nothing to a position of power. The two should not be related.
People need to get over everything that Arnie did in the past. He’s going to be the governor… So what? He’s not going to be running the state on his own. He’s going to have huge fucking teams of people working for him, he’s just going to be in charge of a tiny few things, like giving speeches and random crap like that.
Look at George Bush, not an ounce of sense in the guy, but he’s President of America right now and the whole country has only gone to shit because of the people who are behind him. Not to say it wouldn’t have gone to shit in a different way if he had been in charge… But it’s the people behind the faces of power that are really running things. Arnie is just goign to be a front for his party, for his people. Give the guy a fucking chance.
What’s the worst that could happen?
He does a bit of a bad job for a while and then everyone decides to recall him and California makes a huge amount of money because of the whole farce surrounding the deal.
I bet Arnie running for governor has made California a hell of a lot of money. It’s certainly had a lot of media attention.
I’m sure Arnie will do a great job as governor and I really don’t think anyone is going to stop him from becoming governor, it’s too late.
