Fedex, perl, coyote

I’m waiting for fedex to deliver my webcam. It shouldn’t be long now. Their tracking page says it’ll be here by 3pm and it’s already on the truck for delivery, so that’s cool.
I got tired of keeping my firefox tab open for the tracking page though, so I wrote a quick Perl script that takes the tracking number as an argument and then displays the latest information for that number. It’s saved me a bunch of time messing around already.
I think I might make it store the last tracked number somewhere so you only need to pass the tracking number once per order… Unless you have two IDs to track, in which case you’d need the tracking ID each and every time anyway, to assure you that you’re getting the correct info.

Whatever, I’m sure I’ll never even use the silly thing again 🙂

I just saw a coyote on the hill next to my house, that’s two now.

It’s kind of weird to think that animals the size of that coyote (and much bigger (bears)) are just fricking walking around in the wild, free to roam wherever they please… In England probably the worst thing you could encounter is … ummm … I dunno, a fox or something. A badger with babies to protect possibly… Not much anyway.

There was a rattle snake on the trail the other day. Dan killed it with a shovel, decapitated the thing… And much to my amazement, it kept on moving… For a long time. A hell of a long time. That’s pretty creepy.
