There’s an advert on TV for Astound, the people who provide my internet access and TV and phone and stuff… On the advert some guy says some stuff about the staff always answering the phone quickly, and they’re very helpful and he knows them all by name.

Now, at first that seems like a good thing… That is until you realise that this poor guy has called tech support so many times with problems with their service that he knows all the staff by name. It also doesn’t give a good impression of the company, if he knows all their support staff they can’t have very many. Yet people can always get through, so there can’t be that many customers either… It gives a really poor technical and financial view of the company, and the guy himself.
